Odesa has a special status in Ukraine. No, we do not mean location or polity. We mean a special status in the hearts of Ukrainians. Odesa has everything that our country is famous for – hospitable people, perhaps the most delicious restaurants, and markets full of yields. The Jews, Greeks, Turks, Romanians, Tatars and fifty more nationalities have lived in this region for centuries and contribute to its culture, history, architecture, and cooking. And there is also the sea, the sun, and the wine from the surrounding wineries. Really, Odesa is like a paradise! But with a special sense of humor and character.
